Kamala Harris has seen a surge in popularity from young voters in battleground states in the weeks since President Joe Biden dropped out of the race, a new poll shows.

The survey from the Democrat-aligned Won’t Pac Down found the vice president’s approval rating has jumped 16 points among 18 to 29 year olds since the beginning of July.

Harris also received rousing support from Nancy Pelosi at a fundraiser in San Francisco, hours after Biden named her as one of the Democrats who plotted to push him out.

The latest results follow a vicious weekend in the campaign where Donald Trump tore into Harris for copying his idea to not tax tips and J.D. Vance ramped up the ‘stolen valor’ accusations against Tim Walz over his military record.

Vice President Kamala Harris gushed about Nancy Pelosi at a San Francisco fundraiser Sunday night, hours after President Joe Biden spoke in an interview about the former speaker’s role in the pressure campaign to push him out.

‘There is so much about the future of our country that has relied on leaders like Nancy Pelosi that have the grit, the determination, the brilliance to know what’s possible and to make it so,’ Harris enthused in her home state.

Pelosi cheered Biden, whose decision has breathed new life into Democrats and reshaped the polls.

‘Isn’t this a day to take pride in our candidate for president?’ Pelosi said.

She even compared elections to the Olympics, which ended with an elaborate closing ceremony, noting the tiny gap between earning the bronze and winning the gold.

‘Elections are that close,’ she said, adding that Harris ‘makes us all so proud.’ The event hauled in $12 million for Harris’ campaign.

Trump returns to X for the first time in a year

Former President Donald Trump returned to X for the first time in 2024 ahead of his Monday night interview with the site’s owner, Elon Musk.

Trump posted a campaign ad to the site, formerly known as Twitter.

The highly produced video shows clips from Trump’s 2017 inauguration, the 2020 State of the Union address – where House Speaker Nancy Pelosi tears up his speech at the dais – the 2022 Mar-a-Lago raid and the ex-president triumphanly entering an Ultimate Fighting Championship match with CEO Dana White.

‘Donald Trump seems to always get stronger when challenged,’ a voiceover says.

Musk is set to interview Trump at 8 p.m. tonight – after endorsing the Republican nominee in July, hours after he was grazed by a bullet in Butler, Pennsylvania.
