New Brittany Mahomes tweet about Donald Trump resurfaces from 2017 – just hours after she sparked backlash by liking former President’s post

An old tweet from Brittany Mahomes has been brought to light as she continues to get flak for liking a post from Donald Trump.

On Friday, Patrick Mahomes‘ wife received plenty of criticism from fans for liking a post from the former president on Instagram. Eagle-eyes users spotted the soon-to-be mother of three double-tapping a post mapping out 16 of Trump’s policies as he bids for a second run at the White House.

However, the resurfaced tweet shows Mahomes unamused with Trump during his presidency and at the height of athletes protesting racial injustice by taking a knee during the national anthem.

‘Trump, you have now offended waaaay too many people,’ she wrote on September 24, 2017.

While what she was referring to with her tweet remains unclear, Trump went on a tirade about how players kneeling during the national anthem was tanking NFL ratings.

‘Sports fans should never condone players that do not stand proud for their National Anthem or their Country,’ Trump wrote then. ‘NFL should change policy!’

‘If NFL fans refuse to go to games until players stop disrespecting our Flag & Country you will see change take place fast,’ he wrote in another. ‘Fire or suspend!’

‘Great solidarity for our National Anthem and for our Country. Standing with locked arms is good kneeling is not acceptable. Bad ratings!’

Nonetheless, her liking Trump’s post seven years later outraged many people, with fans suggesting Mahomes torpedoed her friendship with Taylor Swift with the like.

Unfazed, Mahomes took to Instagram to hit out at her critics in a fiery response.

‘I mean honestly, to be a hater as an adult you have to have some deep rooted issues you refuse to heal from childhood,’ she wrote.

‘There’s no reason your brain is fully developed and you hate to see others doing well.’
