Angel Reese, WNBA superstar of the Chicago Sky
ESPN (DR)

Despite another defeat, Angel Reese achieved a sacred record on the WNBA courts this Sunday. And in the face of certain criticisms, the Sky player wanted to set the record straight. Not sure that the mission was successful.

It’s not great form for Angel Reese’s Sky, who are on a string of defeats in the WNBA. Not good news for this team, especially since Caitlin Clark didn’t give any gifts last week, despite Reese’s prowess.

The latter is accumulating rebounds in a rather spectacular way , to the point where it’s controversial.

Because if Reese continues to freak out the scorers with her rebounds, her shooting percentage can partly explain her exploits.

Many misses for the player, allowing her to recover two, even three offensive rebounds in a single sequence. But is this really the reason for her success? The fans affirm it, but the interested party has another theory.

Angel Reese cashes in on criticism

It should be noted that even without her misses, she would be the best player in terms of rebounds according to some media. In a press conference, Reese also made things clear:

Angel Reese : “A lot of people think it’s because I get my own rebounds, but statistically, that’s not the case. A lot of people think it’s because I’m the tallest person on the court, well, that’s not the case.”

It will probably take more than that to convince his detractors, especially since his other stats aren’t crazy.

We’re talking about a 38% interior shooting and 2.1 turnovers per game, while the Sky are 11-21 and have lost six straight right now.

The criticism continues to pour in against Reese, whose speech didn’t go down well.

I’m sure of it

She can talk about anything except her effectiveness.

Angel Reese is far from unanimous, especially when her rebounds are the only real satisfaction of her season for the moment. No doubt that the Sky expects a little more from the player, especially since victories are rare today.
