Angel Reese is a notable WNBA rookie due to her on-court production and competitive nature. To strengthen her following, she announced on Aug. 27 that her podcast Unapologetically Angel will debut soon. Her cast features Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal.

The three-time NBA Champion and Reese are former LSU standouts. Considering those ties, ‘Shaq Daddy’ has become Reese’s mentor. O’Neal also has a podcast titled The Big Podcast with Shaq, where he shares his basketball takes.

‘The Big Diesel’ announced his involvement with Reese on Instagram, garnering 2k likes on the platform.

Podcasts have become a common avenue for athletes to share their unfiltered professional and personal interests. Given how Reese’s popularity continues to rise, fans will no doubt enjoy her banter with Shaq.

Angel Reese spoke about her bond with Shaquille O’Neal

Most young athletes do not have a professional mentor. As per USA Today’s Lindsay Schnell, Reese appreciates how Shaquille O’Neal has been a “father figure” to her since her WNBA arrival.

“He’s super inspiring to me,” Reese said. “He’s so genuine, he’s been there for me through tough times. He just gets it, and there’s not a more perfect person for me to be tight with. We have fun and if I need anything, he would help me … and he would do that even if I never played basketball again.”

O’neal and Reese are two of the best players to don an LSU jersey. After two seasons at Maryland, Reese took her talents to the Lady Tigers. She put up 20.9 points and 14.4 rebounds per game during her tenure there.

Shaquille O’Neal played three seasons at LSU. During that span, he averaged 21.6 points, 13.5 rebounds and 4.6 blocks per game.
