While LeBron James will be celebrating his 40th birthday this coming season, the winger continues to physically outclass most of his opponents. After rubbing shoulders with him during the Paris Olympics, Stephen Curry gave a blunt verdict on the Chosen One.

If the LeBron James – Stephen Curry – Kevin Durant trio was so unique at the 2024 Olympic Games, it was not simply because of the three men’s immense talent. It was above all the last opportunity (normally) to see them play together under the colors of Team USA, because they have gotten older.

The Warriors’ point guard is already 36 years old and his former teammate in the Bay Area will be joining him in a few weeks, his birthday being in September.

And what about LeBron, who will be starting his 22nd season on the NBA courts ?

The guy may be about to blow out his 40th candle, but he doesn’t seem to be slowing down at the moment and neither do his two buddies, to be honest.

Stephen Curry not surprised by LeBron’s physical level

Once again, they have each been the driving force for their respective franchises in 2023-24, although neither has gone very far collectively.

Regardless, they are still expected to be at their best starting in October. And this while they are close to retirement…

It is not a huge surprise to Curry, however, as the Chiefs recently addressed the subject in an interview.

A teammate of the King for the first time in his career this summer (excluding the All-Star Game of course), the Chef was able to see, like all those before him, the Laker’s impeccable work ethic.

Interviewed by People , the double MVP was therefore not surprised by his longevity and explained that such an observation also applied to him or even to KD, because of the colossal efforts they provide day after day:

It’s the result of everything that most people don’t see. It’s the time spent on the recovery table, it’s the time spent in the weight room, day in and day out.

That little investment in preparing the body and mind to perform. There’s nothing really glamorous about it. It’s extremely hard work.

It’s monotonous sometimes and you have to deal with all the problems that come with being an athlete, injuries and everything else. I think we’ve motivated each other for the time we have left to play.

When you see your friends and opponents giving their all, it’s hard not to want to do the same. Their franchises won’t complain.

LeBron James impresses many with his physical dominance as he approaches 40, but it’s not all that surprising in Stephen Curry’s eyes. It must be said that the Chef had a front row seat to admire the four-time NBA champion’s absolutely colossal work ethic.
