After injuring her ankle in a game against the Atlanta Dream on Monday, Caitlin Clark got to snatching the ankles of her opponents.
Clark rolled her ankle in the first quarter in a scary scene that saw the star point guard on the ground screaming out in pain.
She eventually made a return to the floor and put on a show for the fans at State Farm Arena in Atlanta.
Among her many highlights from the evening included an ankle-breaking behind-the-back dribble that dazzled and delighted.
Clark’s quick change of direction snatched the ankles of Dream guard Maya Caldwell.
Caitlin Clark stunned fans with a beautiful behind-the-back dribble to snatch a rival’s ankles
She then cleaned up her effort with a nice drive to the basket and a lay-in for two points
It was one of those plays that looked amazing at full speed, but looked even better slowed down.
Clark didn’t just stop on a dime to get Caldwell out of her way, she then drove the lane and hit the contested layup to punctuate the play.
Fans of Clark’s lost their minds after the clip of the play surfaced – with many praising the former Iowa star.
‘whole crowd was shook,’ remarked on person on Twitter – noting how the audience reacted to the play.
Another person wrote, ‘This girl is soooo good. How anybody hates her or her game is unequivocally bizarre.’
‘I think she can play in the nba,’ wrote one account while another simply said, ‘She’s incredible.’
One account posted, ‘Her ball handling is so smooth.’ Another remarked, ‘WNBA GOAT in the making.’
Another decided to make a prediction on the Rookie of the Year race between Clark and Chicago Sky center Angel Reese, saying, ‘Just stop all this ROTY debates (laughing emoji) it’s not even close.’
The Internet went crazy when the slow-mo clip of the action went viral on social media
All told, Clark had 19 points on 6-of-14 shooting with seven rebounds, seven assists, and two steals in the 85-79 victory over the Dream.
Indiana’s Kelsey Mitchell led the team with 29 points alongside seven rebounds while Aliyah Boston managed a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds.
The Dream were led by veteran center Tina Charles – who had 28 points and eight rebounds on the night as one of four starters to manage double-digit points.
Indiana is currently the seven seed in the WNBA playoffs and the team is three-and-a-half games ahead of no postseason. They are 11.5 games back of the league leading New York Liberty.
