NBA – The viral debate on LeBron and Cristiano Ronaldo: “If he did the same, he would earn 50 million…

La superstar NBA LeBron James (gauche) et le footballeur portugais Cristiano Ronaldo (droite)

A football fan, LeBron James may not have escaped Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent exploit away from the field.

The latter has also led to the birth of a bitter debate on social networks concerning the King and his Portuguese counterpart.

A minority shareholder in the glorious English club Liverpool, he sometimes follows the Reds’ matches live.

However, LeBron James’ relationship with football and its figures does not stop there. Indeed, his knowledge of the round ball is much more solid than that of most Americans.

A few months ago, he dared to designate the GOAT, even if it meant making a few enemies.

LeBron James as popular as Cristiano Ronaldo?

By awarding the status of best footballer in history, James has inevitably attracted the attention of fans of a certain Cristiano Ronaldo.

More recently, they rejoiced over the launch of their idol’s YouTube channel, which has garnered over 50 million subscribers in just a few days.

A feat that LeBron could totally imitate according to the famous streamer Adin Ross:

Adin Ross: I want to say talk about this because someone just said something about it in the chat.

“Do you think LeBron would have that many subscribers if he started on YouTube?” Guys, listen to me carefully: if LeBron James did the same as Cristiano Ronaldo and posted a YouTube video tonight, he would gain 50 million subscribers in three days. I’m sorry, but it’s the truth.

Would the King’s popularity on social networks turn out to be similar to that of CR7? This is ultimately where the whole question on which this debate is based lies.

For information, the Portuguese striker has no less than 637 million subscribers on Instagram, compared to “only” 160 million for LBJ.

An eloquent comparison that therefore pushes some Americans to recognize a certain inferiority:

As much as I have trolled football fans, I know one thing is undeniable… Their stars are infinitely more popular around the world than those of American sports.

There is no comparison.

Present and relatively active on X or Instagram, would LeBron James meet with as sudden a success as Cristiano Ronaldo if he were to launch on YouTube? Even some Americans have a hard time believing it.
