While she is among the big favorites for the Rookie of the Year title alongside Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese is nonetheless one of the most polarizing figures in the WNBA.

Praised for her statistical prowess, the Chicago player has however been taken down on this subject recently.

At the moment, she seems to be the only one able to prevent Caitlin Clark from finishing the season with the Rookie of the Year in her hands.

Drafted alongside the Indiana point guard last spring, Angel Reese is sparing no effort to steal the award from her long-time rival.

She is also stringing together insane performances in the Sky jersey, especially in rebounding.

Reese is indeed coming off a streak of three straight games with 20 or more rebounds, a performance almost unique in the history of the WNBA.

There is however a big black mark to this: although she gobbles up rebounds in spades and especially in attack where she leads the league, most of them come from… her own misses because she is very clumsy (38.7% shooting). Enough to make many fans scream on the web:

Angel Reese’s game is everything that is wrong with basketball today. She is praised for her statistics and all her double-double streaks.

But when you watch the games, you realize how fraudulent it all is. This girl literally can’t make a shot from 60 centimeters from the rim and takes her own rebound four times, which makes her rebounding stats crazy.

Then, she does her stats in games that no longer have any sporting stakes to increase her points and rebounding stats in order to validate a double-double.

This stems from all the adoration of meaningless double-doubles or triple-doubles from fans and the media! All of this ruins the beautiful game of basketball. Play the game the right way or don’t play at all

Clearly, the former LSU player is the one who polarizes the most in the WNBA right now, much more than Caitlin Clark even.

Especially since Reese is defended by many NBA players, Jaylen Brown and Shaquille O’Neal for example seeing her become Rookie of the Year.

Absolutely not the same opinion as that of the fans who are seriously tired of seeing her artificially inflate her numbers.

On the one hand, Angel Reese freaks out the counters every night with a pretty crazy harvest on the rebound.

On the other hand, his statistical performances are nevertheless considered fraudulent by many observers.

Needless to say, no one agrees and it seems set to last his entire career…
