Angel Reese’s former teammate with the LSU Tigers, Hailey Van Lith, transferred to the TCU Horned Frogs in the offseason, set to embark on her fifth year of college basketball.
Van Lith recently posted her preseason pictures, rocking the Horned Frogs jersey with her No. 11. The 23-year-old captioned the post, “The intro.”
Reese, who just wrapped her first WNBA season with the Chicago Sky, then responded to Van Lith’s photos, sharing support for her former teammate.
“she’s backkkkkk,” Reese commented.
Van Lith and Horned Frogs will tip off the 2024-25 college basketball season on Nov. 5 against the Houston Christian Huskies.
Reese previously spoke on her relationship with Van Lith, mentioning that while she wasn’t “super close” with the talented guard, she made it a priority to make her feel comfortable at LSU.
“We [Angel Reese and Hailey Van Lith] weren’t super close, but I was probably one of the closer people with her on the team,” Reese said. “I think she was really distant from everybody else. So I kind of felt bad, so was like let me get close to her and like see who she is, because she was the only white girl.
