Usher‘s connection to disgraced music mogul Sean ‘Diddy‘ Combs didn’t stop WNBA star Angel Reese’s good time over the weekend.
The injured Chicago Sky rookie was serenaded by Usher at the newly opened Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, where Reese was briefly coaxed into a duet with the 45-year-old R&B legend.
As always, the lanky 22-year-old dressed for the occasion, sporting a white summer dress, which may have helped Usher to spot her in the front row of his performance on Sunday.
Usher has been facing criticism after a number of his social media posts from his days running around with Diddy were recently deleted from the singer’s X account. Since then, Usher has claimed his account was hacked.
Usher had not been directly accused of any criminal conduct in the case against Combs, who was arrested earlier this month and charged with crimes including racketeering and sex trafficking. Combs has denied any guilty.

However, In a lawsuit filed by singer Dawn Richard, Usher was accused of being present while Combs was exerting physical abuse against his ex-girlfriend Casandra ‘Cassie’ Ventura.
The relationship between Usher and Diddy spans decades, as Combs was an executive producer on Usher’s first album, 1994’s Usher; and he resided with Diddy as a teenager in learning the business in the 1990s.
‘You’d open a door and see somebody doing it, or several people in a room having an orgy,’ Usher told Rolling Stone in 2004. ‘You never knew what was going to happen.’
Reese recently lost the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year honor to Indiana Fever rival Caitlin Clark – something fans were quick to mention online.
‘Reese playing singer while CC playing playoffs,’ read one tweet after footage of the Usher concert surfaced.
Others joked about Usher’s proximity to the Diddy scandal: ‘Usher had my Angel nervous.’
‘Isn’t she aware Usher might be arrested soon?’ one fan added. ‘She has to get some better advisors.’
Reese’s season came to a premature end due to a wrist injury as her Sky failed to reach the postseason.
