Denise Welch claims that she once met Prince Andrew and he was “disrespectful” about Princess Diana amid discussions about the upcoming Amazon Prime drama about the disgraced prince.

Loose Women presenter Denise Welch dropped a bombshell claim about a high-ranking member of the Royal Family on the ITV programme.

The panel were discussing the newly released Amazon Prime series A Very Royal Scandal, centring on Prince Andrew’s notorious BBC Newsnight interview about his connections with Jeffrey Epstein.

Michael Sheen stars as the disgraced Duke of York in the highly anticipated production which is set to be a big hit for the streaming platform.

Denise was eager to recount her personal interactions with Andrew, labelling him a “narcissist” and accusing him of making “disrespectful” comments regarding Princess Diana. Her colleague, Linda Robson, echoed these sentiments, branding Andrew “arrogant” from her own meeting with him, the Mirror reports.

The panel didn’t shy away from discussing the alleged plans of Prince Andrew hosting a “watch party” for the upcoming show, expressing disbelief over the idea that he’s reportedly gathering friends at his residence to view the portrayal of what many consider a calamitous event.

Denise remarked: “We have heard rumour that Prince Andrew is having a viewing party with his pals. Now you would think, ‘Why would you want to be seen going through that?’ But in my personal experience of the odd time I’ve met him, he is a narcissist.”

She continued with her candid insights: “So it wouldn’t surprise me at all if he was going to have his friends round and celebrate what was an absolute disaster! ”

Linda Robson shared her distaste for a certain royal, recalling: “I’ve met him a couple of times at events that I’ve been to, and he comes across as quite an arrogant man. I don’t know if you remember he was walking around Buckingham Palace grounds and two policemen stopped him, and he was quite rude to them.

“He said, ‘Don’t you know who I am? ‘ So I think he’s let the Royals down, he really really has. So I won’t be watching.”

Ruth Wilson is stepping into the role of BBC journalist Emily Maitlis for a provocative drama, with Michael Sheen alongside her. This follows the controversial documentary Andrew: The Problem Prince, released last year revealing insights of the notorious 2019 interview scenario.

In Scoop, Rufus Sewell assumed the part of Andrew, while Gillian Anderson portrayed Emily Maitlis. Adding star power, Billie Piper was also amongst the cast.

A Very Royal Scandal, according to reports from The Independent, apparently takes additional creative freedoms capturing a scene where Andrew, in the midst of a hunting party is questioned by his former wife Fergie, played by Claire Rushbrook, about whether he’s guilty.
