Alan Halsall and GK Barry latest to be axed from ITV’s I’m A Celebrity jungle

Geordie duo Ant and Dec have announced the latest stars to leave the I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here jungle just days before the final

Alan Halsall and GK Barry and became the latest campmates to be sent packing from the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here jungle in another shock double exit.

The news comes just days before the elusive final on Sunday and prior to this year’s Celebrity Cyclone. They follow Barry McGuigan and Maura Higgins out of the camp after the duo were sent packing during Thursday night’s episode of the ITV gameshow in a dramatic twist.

One user gasped on Twitter/X: “Like last night, I’m not super surprised by Alan, but GK Barry has shocked me! Moment of silence for her friendship with Reverend Richard though because that’s a spin-off waiting to happen #ImACeleb”

“Gutted, I wanted Alan in the top 4,” added another, while a third said: “Losing Maura one day and GK Barry the next. The British public CAN NOT BE TRUSTED. I can’t believe it #ImACeleb”

Coronation Street star Alan admitted his time was nothing like he expected, saying he met 11 amazing people when speaking to Ant and Dec. He said bonding was a “pleasant surprise” and he admitted he is surprised he was able to make new friends at 41 years old.

He also admitted he had struggled with boredom in camp, saying that while some didn’t appreciate it, it helped him in his journey. Alan admitted he missed his daughter and said it’s “very intense” being in the camp.

Fans loved Alan’s actions immediately after leaving. One beamed: “Alan getting a selfie with Ant and Dec is iconic. #ImACeleb #imacelebrity2024”

When speaking to GK Barry following her exit, Ant and Dec praised the podcaster’s time in the jungle, joking she was “scared of everything” in the jungle.

As she finished in fifth place she screeched “I’m free” as she said she felt “really good” at being out of camp.Speaking to the Geordie presenters, she said: “I can’t believe I’ve looked that way on national television,” before admitting she didn’t know how much she swore.

She explained her experience was worse than expected, saying the trials were “hell” and she “wouldn’t put my worst enemy through that”. However, she gushed over her campmates, saying she met a great bunch of friends. “I feel so much more comfortable in myself,” she admitted. However, she said the boredom and hunger in camp were tough to handle – until Reverend Richard Coles’ arrival.

Of their friendship, she said: “I love him. I’m a potty mouth, vile person… he’s more dirty than me. I was shocked we got on so well.” She then said he has to win, joking it’s a fix if he doesn’t.

Fans were stunned a day earlier as boxing legend Barry and Love Island star Maura were told to leave. However, during her exit chat with Ant and Dec, Irish bombshell Maura revealed: “I’m really happy! I said it last night, I said it this morning, I was like ‘It’s my time,’ I had a gut feeling and my gut feeling is never wrong!” She added that she knew it was “tough” but claimed her time on the show was the “most amazing” experience.

Barry also praised his time on the show, but said it was “harder” than he initially expected. He confessed he wanted McFly’s Danny Jones to win the series, saying: “It makes me feel great, all my kids are the same age as him, or around the same age as him.”

Radio 1 DJ Melvin Odoom had became the fourth celebrity to be sent packing earlier in the week too, following Tulisa’s surprise exit. Before she left, Dean McCullough’s headed for the exit, with Loose Women star Jane Moore the first to have received her marching orders via the public vote.
