Claudia Winkleman has candidly revealed her struggles with a persistent health issue that’s been causing her to feel like she’s “falling apart”.
The beloved Strictly and The Traitors host admitted that decades of poor posture have taken their toll, and she’s now seeking the help of a professional to straighten herself out. On The Mid. Point podcast with Gabby Logan, Claudia confessed: “My body is made entirely of crepe. [I’m] falling apart.”
She explained her foray into Pilates as an attempt to gain some strength, particularly in her core, due to a troublesome back. “They talked to me about parts of my body. They said, ‘The problem is you’ve never used your lats’.
“I was like, ‘What is that?’ Apparently my shoulders are up by my neck!” Claudia also shared her unusual view on posture: “I don’t like the look of people standing up straight. It feels somehow cocky, so my stance has always been like a turtle”, reports Bristol Live.
The term ‘lats’ is short for latissimus dorsi, a key muscle in the back which Pilates can effectively target to enhance muscle groups, posture, flexibility, strength, balance, and body awareness. “I’ve now got so many backbones. So I go to Pilates and they try and open me up,” she continued.

Discussing the sensation of adopting a correct posture, she remarked, “When they do open me up and I sit or stand like I’m supposed to, like that, I mean, it feels alien.”
In addition to her posture woes, Claudia updated listeners on her ongoing battle with myopia, a long-term eye condition that affects distant vision but can be managed with glasses or contact lenses, as described by the NHS.
The challenging condition has caused embarrassing accidents like bumping into walls, while she also struggles with driving and reading.
Undergoing two eye surgeries has actually made her inability to read worse.

“Because I was so short-sighted, by them fixing it, I’m not long-sighted, so I can’t really read anymore,” the Strictly host judged.
Fortunately, custom glasses has helped, with her revealing that she has a prescription of 2.5.
Elsewhere in Claudia’s life, she’s celebrating the comeback of the Traitors, which will have longterm fans glued to screens as it launches into its third series.
Claudia is clearly invested, revealing that she regards the contestants as her “children”.
