Susanna Reid’s face drops as she’s called out for ‘EXAGGERATING’ by Martin Lewis live on Good Morning Britain – and fans SLAM her for ‘CONSTANT INTERRUPTIONS’

Susanna Reid clashed with Martin Lewis and Secretary of State for Business and Trade Jonathan Reynolds live on air during Tuesday’s instalment of the breakfast show, as fans slammed her for ‘constant interruptions’.

The presenter, 53, found herself in a heated debate twice within the programme, firstly being accused of ‘exaggerating’ by the money expert in an awkward exchange.

It came as Susanna and her co-host Ed Balls were discussing the Government’s plans to cut winter fuel payments for ten million elderly voters.

They were debating how difficult it is to apply for pension credit with some confusion over how long it takes to fill out the application.

During the interview with Martin, Susanna said:  ‘If someone’s watching this right now and thinks I have never been able to tackle the application for pension credit, because as I understand it, it’s 243 questions long, this application’.

Before she finished her sentence, the money pro chimed in with: ‘I think that’s an exaggeration,’ prompting the presenter to fire back: ‘Well that’s what The Times is reporting, anyway okay’.

Attempting to clarify, Martin added: ‘It’s important to say to people – yes, depending on what you answer depends on the number of questions.’

Not backing down, Susanna questioned: ‘So it’s possibly 243 questions long?’ to which Martin agreed and the presenter said: ‘I mean you know, that’s pretty off-putting isn’t it?’

Elsewhere on the show, Ed and Susanna interviewed the Secretary of State for Business and Trade Jonathan Reynolds about the same topic – and the conversation got very heated.

The ITV star fired: ‘When you make this choice to withdraw the winter fuel allowance, what is your new analysis and how many deaths have you decided will result?’ and the politician responded that: ‘No one should die’

Later in the interview Susanna kept interrupting the interviewee, raging: ‘So you’ve decided that pensioners are the ones who can afford it?’.

Attempting to defend himself, the MP said there are ‘no easy decisions,’ but Susanna quickly came back with: ‘No we keep hearing that but we’re asking why pensioners and you have made it clear.’

She finished off the dramatic interview by remarking: ‘If only pensioners got £1 for every time a Government minister said this was a difficult decision. Perhaps they could make up the winter fuel allowance.’

Viewers quickly picked up on the awkward moments, taking to X to write:

‘#Stop interrupting #martinlewis and let him finish! #gmb’

‘Susanna: the application for Pension Credit is 240 questions long Martin Lewis: That is a slight exaggeration. Susanna: well that’s what the Times are reporting. Martin: You don’t answer them all, just the ones relevant to you. Susanna: [angry face emoji] #GMB.’

‘Susanna needs a week off. She thinks she’s Jeremy Kyle #GMB.’

‘You go, girl. Susanna is rinsing him. #GMB.’

It comes after the ITV star made her return to Good Morning Britain last week after a lengthy summer break – but viewers were all saying the same thing about her striking outfit.

The presenter commanded attention as she made her comeback to the ITV breakfast programme in a bright blue suit, complete with a large white satin bowtie around her neck.

She further accessorized with a funky pair of tortoiseshell glasses with a very thick frame as she appeared on screens alongside her co-host Ed Balls.

Susanna celebrated her return with a quick selfie on social media alongside the caption: ‘Back to school!,’ which has already been seen by more than 25,000 people.

While many fans were delighted to have the ‘gorgeous’ presenter back on GMB and flooding her replies with welcome back messages, others couldn’t help but compare her quirky outfit to a number of characters and celebrities.

From Austin Powers and Jamie Foxx in Django Unchained to Margaret Thatcher, the comparisons came flooding in.
