Inside Bargain Hunt STAR Philip Serrell’s HOME LIFE with BELOVED PETS.

Philip Serrell has given fans a sneak peek into his home as he enjoys a relaxed weekend.

Philip Serrell is back on BBC One’s Bargain Hunt, offering his expertise to the amateur teams. The English auctioneer and antiques fanatic started his career as a livestock trade auctioneer.

He became a chartered surveyor in 1988 to analyse antiques and has never looked back. While he is widely known for his roles on Bargain Hunt, Flog It! and for his musical talents, fans are keen to find out more about his home life.

He is married to Briony Serrell and has a daughter called Clementine, who is in her 30s and works as a personal trainer, she also runs a cake business. The other loves in Philip’s life are his dogs and he often shares photos of them on X, formerly Twitter.

In a post from January, he shared a video of his beloved pets snoozing by the fire, saying: “There’s something about a fire on a January Sunday with your two best mates.” At Christmas, he joked how his dogs were “not spoilt” as one of them posed proudly next to a huge pile of presents.

His dogs are named Daphne, Wilma and Valerie and they are understood to be Bedlington Terriers. He often speaks about his love of dogs, Terriers in particular.

In one post, showing a painting of a Jack Russell, he wrote: “Always been a terrier and lurcher fan. My first was a JRT called Lucy to the two Bedlingtons with me now.”

He has even worked with the Bedlington Terrier Rescue Foundation, acting as a celebrity judge for their calendar photo competition.

Philip lives in Worcester and his workplace is on his doorstep as Philip Serrell Auctioneers and Valuers is based at The Malvern Saleroom in Worcester.

His website states: “We have been established as one of Worcestershire’s premier independent auction houses since 1995, and experienced in the area for some 40 years, though the origins of the business date back to the 18th Century.”

In May 2024, he hosted a talk offering insight into his life as an auctioneer in Worcestershire and his love of antiques.

The 70-year-old has always had a passion for living in open spaces, as he explained about enjoying life on the road: “Travelling around the country is great fun – meeting different people and seeing different places.”

On his favourite places to shop for bargains, he continued: “I like some of the big outside fairs… in the sun though and not when it’s wet.”

Finally, the TV presenter explained how he enjoyed spending his free time, adding: “I spend a lot of time watching sport and telling them all how good I used to be. The older I get the better I was.”
