Victor Wembanyama, prodige des Spurs, et DeMar DeRozan

A few weeks ago, Victor Wembanyama played his first major final with the French team, and he lived up to expectations against the ogre Team USA. DeMar DeRozan is convinced that Gregg Popovich will use this match to change his prodigy.

The Spurs are not as prestigious a franchise as the Lakers, the Celtics or the Warriors, and yet, they are perhaps the most dominant team of this century.

Thanks to David Robinson, Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Gregg Popovich, the Texans have been used to settling in the upper reaches of the Western Conference…

Unfortunately, since the retirement of these legends, the results have been a little less good.

San Antonio hasn’t been to the playoffs since the 2018/2019 season, which is starting to be a long time for fans who have seen 5 banners go up to the ceiling of the AT&T Center in the space of 15 years.

For this last trip on the road to the title, DeMar DeRozan was the leader.

The veteran also always keeps a close eye on the Spurs’ situation, like everyone who has worked with Gregg Popovich.

After the call of the foot, an Olympic volleyball player cash on Victor Wembanyama: “I think he would be…

Victor Wembanyama is going to be the next big superstar of the league, he’s going to learn a lot with Gregg Popovich.

And even the way he played during the Olympics… His level in the final against Team USA was crazy.

And he’s just a kid! I’m sure that night he was on the phone with Pop and he learned how to handle disappointment.

Now watch how he’s going to respond this season. They’re building a monster. When we played against them last season, I had a drive to the basket.

I was on one side of the racket and he was on the other… I had to stop my run to get the ball out, I knew he had the speed to come and counter me. He’s going to be a legend, that’s for sure.

DeMar DeRozan was impressed by the level displayed by Victor Wembanyama during the Olympic final against Team USA.

Even though he was the youngest on the court, he carried the Blues in what could have been the greatest feat in the history of French basketball.

And he is convinced that Gregg Popovich has already spoken to his prodigy to motivate him and make him even more terrifying in the NBA.

DeMar DeRozan knows the Spurs method well, so he knows that Victor Wembanyama is going to become a real problem for the entire league in the years to come.

He even thinks that Gregg Popovich is going to use the loss at the Olympics to transform him.
