Angel Reese has quickly made a name for herself after making her debut in the WNBA. She played for the LSU Tigers and was one of the most popular players and promising athletes in her class.

In the latest episode of her podcast, “Unapologetically Angel” released on September 5, the Sky rookie provided some clarity into her infamous LSU hiatus.

Reese had missed four consecutive games for the Tigers without a reason and head coach Kim Mulkey’s silence on the matter only fueled speculation at that time.

Reese revisited the incident and cleared up the confusion on the matter.

“I sat the second half of a game, the Kent State game and just it was me and Kim Mulkey kinda got into it about something,” Reese said. “After that game, me and her had a conversation and we talked about what’s moving forward and it was just best for me to take some time off.”

Reese explained that being the number one team took a toll on her. She credited the relationship with Mulkey for encouraging her to take the leave and addressed the speculations people had about her absence, which ranged from having a low GPA to being pregnant, as crazy.

However, it boiled down to just taking some time off the action and taking care of her mental health. Reese’s explanation coincides with the former statements she had provided after returning from the hiatus.

“My mental health is the most important before anything and I’m gonna make sure I’m okay before anything because I don’t wanna cause any harm or cancer in the locker room,” Reese said earlier in an interview after her return to LSU.

Angel Reese gets sidelined for the rest of the season after a spectacular performance against the Los Angeles Sparks

Earlier today, the Chicago Sky announced that Angel Reese will be sidelined for the rest of the season after suffering a season-ending wrist injury in Friday’s game against the Los Angeles Sparks.

Ironically, the Sky rookie, who has been criticized for her poor shooting, made a three-pointer as her final shot of the WNBA season. Angel Reese delivered a masterclass against the Sparks, scoring 24 points, collecting 12 rebounds and dishing out two assists to secure a 92-78 victory for her team.
