Kevin McCarthy says Vice President Kamala Harris is not in charge of her presidential campaign and is getting major assistance behind the scenes.

The disgraced ex-House Speaker claims that former President Barack Obama is secretly running the effort to get Harris elected in November.

Speaking with Cats Roundtable on Sunday, McCarthy pointed to the vice president hiring people to work for her campaign that were once part of Obama’s team.

‘You’re getting the Obamas shifting from running the White House to now running this campaign,’ the California Republican said.

McCarthy, who was ousted in last October from his speakership, is joining a chorus of Republicans who claim Obama is running a shadow campaign and is really pulling the strings.

‘If you’re watching the campaign now, some of Obama’s [key people such as] David Plouffe and others are now working on the campaign,’ McCarthy told host John Catsimatidis on 770 WABC.

Harris took over as the de facto Democratic nominee last month after President Joe Biden ended his reelection campaign.

Many of Obama’s top advisers now have roles with Harris’ 2024 presidential campaign.

Plouffe was Obama’s campaign manager in 2008 and later one of his top White House advisers. He is now Harris’ senior campaign aide.

Stephanie Cutler, who was Obama’s campaign manager in his 2012 reelection bid, was hired as Harris’ senior adviser for strategy messaging.

And the vice president’s campaign chairwoman is Jennifer O’Malley Dillon, who worked on both Obama and Biden’s presidential campaigns.

Democratic adviser Jennifer Palmieri was brought on to advise Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff. Previously, Palmieri served as Obama’s White House Director of Communications. She was also in that role as Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign.

And Eric Holder, who served as Obama’s attorney general, helped handling vetting for Harris’ running mate. The vice president announced on Tuesday that she selected Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz to join her 2024 ticket.

McCarthy tore into Harris’ pick.

‘This is by far … the most liberal ticket in the history of American politics,’ McCarthy said on Sunday. ‘We do not want to put San Francisco and Minnesota across this country.’

The former House Speaker said it was a mistake to pass over Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, who is Jewish.

‘Any political-science person would tell you it’s all coming down to Pennsylvania and Georgia,’ McCarthy said about the outcome of the 2024 election.

‘Why would [Harris] skip Shapiro in picking a VP? Is she not going to stand up to her own party when they want to attack Israel?’ he questioned. ‘She wasn’t there when the prime minister of Israel came to speak to Congress. That’s her role and responsibility as president of the Senate.’
