Presenter Charlotte Hawkins interrupted Good Morning Britain today with an urgent news update. The ITV host shared some breaking news as she announced that a 15-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of Harvey Willgoose who was stabbed to death at a school in Sheffield on Monday.

The studio flashed a breaking news banner behind Charlotte, who was dressed in a hot pink blazer dress, as she explained that the suspect could not be named because of his name. However, he has “also been charged with posession of a bladed article and one count of affray.”

She added: “He will appear at juvenile youth court later today. The Crown Proscecution Service has issued a warning that criminal proceedings against this defendant are active and that the youth has the right to a fair trial.

“It is extremely important that there should be no reporting, commenting or sharing of information online which could, in any way, prejudice the proceedings.”

Another added: “Blimey, it’s just a shame, innit? Kids should be in the classroom learning, not in court – what on earth’s happened to this world?”
