Pete has spoken about his lothario past in a candid way

REALITY star Pete Wicks has seemingly sent his new girlfriend Maura Higgins a stark warning after breaking his silence on their new romance.

Admitting that he has cheated on partners in the past, Pete opened up about his lothario past while chatting to Married At First Sight dating expert Paul Brunson in a new podcast interview.

TOWIE star Pete and Love Island beauty Maura went public with their romance in August last year.

Despite stepping out with one another last summer, both Pete, 37, and Maura, 34, have been coy when asked about it publicly – until now.

During a new interview with Celebs Go Dating’s Paul for his We Need To Talk podcast, Pete was asked all about his romance with Maura, with him also opening up about his lothario past.

Pete seemingly sent Maura a warning during his chat when he spoke about how he has been “selfish” in the past before seemingly touching on how he cheated and treated women badly in previous relationships.

“I think I have selfishly been in control of a lot of my relationships,” Pete said.

“I love meeting new people, I’ve never struggled with the meeting of new people, whether that be friends or relationships – but I’ve always been in control of the fact I’ve left always before someone leaves me.

“Point blank and as soon as anything gets too close I’ve pulled back from, I’ve always wanted to be around people but at my comfortable-ness.”

He added: “I’ve been very independent my whole life and Iike being alone. I like to have it at arm’s length.”

Pete then spoke about how he cheated in the past, saying: “I wasn’t a very good lad when it came to women.

“I was out a lot, seeing people in their 30s and 40s at 19, 20.

I wasn’t a very good lad when it came to women.

“I think I hurt a lot of people. I was seeing multiple people,” Pete admitted.

“Because I was a bit of a boy. That’s not a nice way to treat people. I did that a lot when I was younger.”

But speaking about his new relationship, Pete seemed smitten with Irish beauty Maura.

He said: “Maura and I have known each other for a long time now… about six years.

“We have the same sense of humour, she’s super intelligent and I think that is sometimes something that people don’t realise about Maura.

“She’s incredibly witty,” he swooned.

“We have always been there for each other for the past six years at a distance.”

But Pete continued: “It’s different now. We spend more time together now than we did before.

“My relationship with her is that I think she’s a great person and I would hope that she thinks I’m alright,” he gushed.
