NBA – Stephen Curry cashes in on a Frenchman: “I’m going to make a lot of money with his…

La star NBA Stephen Curry accompagnée du drapeau français

Over the years, Stephen Curry has become a basketball legend thanks to his outside shot.

The best three-point shooter in history, the Chief admitted a few years ago that he was inspired, among others, by a Frenchman who played in the big leagues.

Barring an earthquake, Stephen Curry should surpass the 4,000 career three-point shot mark next season.

These are staggering figures, given that the Warriors’ leader has a considerable head start on the competition. James Harden, his closest pursuer, is more than 800 shots behind the double MVP…

Suffice to say that we will have to work very hard to one day dislodge the most prolific shooter of all time, if that is even possible.

As a reminder, Baby Face has made more than nine attempts per game in his career, with a completely insane success rate (42.6%). And yet, he has not gone below the 11-shot average mark for five years.

Steph Curry’s big tribute to Mickaël Piétrus
However, all this is not due to chance, because the Chef works hard to maintain this level of excellence. Very early in his career, the number 30 observed the best in the NBA to draw inspiration from it.

In 2009, when he was still an NCAA player at Davidson, he had also given a big wink… to the Frenchman Mickaël Piétrus.

I’m going to go practice my three-point shot in Mickaël Piétrus’ corner right away… I’m going to make a lot of money in the league with that

And yes, a player from France did indeed serve as an example for the future Hall of Famer to become the legendary shooter he is today.

A very nice tribute to “Air France” who spent no less than ten seasons on the NBA courts, all with some great collective accomplishments like the Warriors’ upset against the Mavericks in 2007 or the 2009 Finals with the Magic.

Renowned for his athleticism and spectacular dunks, hence his nickname, the Frenchy also distinguished himself by his great efficiency at three-point range.

He thus shot 35.5% from behind the arc in the United States, a very good performance at a time when it was not yet fashionable.

Add to that his defensive skills and you get the 3&D par excellence, sought after by all franchises.

Mickaël Piétrus left a good memory to American fans after his career in the NBA, but he also served as a model for Stephen Curry when he was still playing in college.

When you consider what the Warrior has accomplished since then, it is not nothing.
