SMASH-HIT show The Traitors sneakily returned to our screens this week.

And who better to appear on the opening screen then Claudia Winkleman, donning a pair of red fingerless leather gloves.

The nation’s favourite wacky murder mystery game show has well and truly returned, bringing it’s hilariously camp style with it.

To celebrate, Claudia spoke to Vogue, spilling the details on her iconic Traitors wardrobe.

Clothing

Describing her style as ‘a bit Sarah Brightman’ in the latest series, Claudia said the wardrobe team aim for a ‘very specific’ mash-up of fits and patterns.

Claudia is frequently seen in heavy, oversized knitwear – perfect for keeping her warm while filming in the chilly Scottish highlands.

Claudia said: “I wanted to wear like… an old battered lace skirt with wellies and an oversized khaki sweater.”

Stereotypical country-style patterns like tweed and the type of diamond pattern you might see on the golf course are also key in her wardrobe.

And viewers might be surprised by some of the pocket-friendly clothing options the style team choose: “I love the fact that we do half high street and half not.

“So I can wear the most extraordinary jumper from Purdey with a pair of leggings that we bought on Amazon for £8.”

For footwear, Claudia says she opts for a practical pair of Dr Martens while filming.

And of course, some of the standout items of Claudia’s wardrobe are her red fingerless leather gloves and murder cloak.

Claudia thanks her gloves for getting her into character, saying: “I don’t know what they do to me.”

While her famous murder cloak is made by Luxury Family Affair, a sustainable slow-fashion brand run by a woman called Tilla – who made Claudia’s incredible cape.

Hair

It would be a crime not to mention Claudia’s iconic hairstyle – the dark full-fringe synonymous with her name.

But how does she get it to stay put while filming in the wild and windy Scottish weather?

Claudia jokingly thanks the weight of her fringe, saying: “It’s weighty.

“That fringe is cut from way back in my head.”

Makeup

In-keeping with the glam-but-goth theme, Claudia describes her make up style as ‘a bit woman on the verge of something ugly in a castle left with just a bottle of spray tan and eyeliner’.

Typically seen with a heavy smokey eye and golden glow, she likes to smudge her eyeliner out for a wild and mysterious look.
