Fans of Pete Wicks were spoiled for choice on Saturday night, with the TOWIE favourite making his debut on Strictly Come Dancing while also appearing on another TV show

Pete Wicks was in two places at once, sort of, on Saturday night as he appeared on two hit TV shows at the exact same time.

TOWIE favourite Pete made his live debut on Strictly Come Dancing 2024, with him and his co-stars performing their first ever routine for the series. But just 30 minutes into the live series kicking off on BBC One, Pete was also shown battling it out on a quiz show on ITV1.

Pete took on Stephen Mulhern’s Catchphrase, competing against Kate Garraway and Bradley Wiggins to win money for charity. So while Pete was preparing to show off his moves on one channel, fans could also check out his guessing skills elsewhere.

Of course Catchphrase would have been pre-recorded and wasn’t live on air like Strictly. That said, it’s probably safe to assume the episode was kept back to air around the same time as his Strictly stint, unless it’s a major coincidence.

Those wanting to watch Pete on both shows would have to skip parts of the Strictly launch, or just watch one of them on catch-up later on! Catchphrase opponent Kate has actually done Strictly before, so perhaps she had some tips ahead of his live debut.

Bradley, meanwhile, was said to have turned down a spot on the show a few years ago. Someone else close to Pete who has done the show before is Zara McDermott, the partner of his best pal and podcast co-host Sam Thompson.

Zara, who performed on the show a year ago, took to Instagram to praise his pairing with pro dancer Jowita Przystał. Pete had supported Zara on the show a year ago, before signing up himself this series.

Meanwhile, Pete and Jowita have already sparked romance rumours after appearing cosy in rehearsals this week. The duo are set to take on a steamy Pasa Doble at the Elstree ballroom this evening. Both stars are believed to be single after Pete was linked to fellow reality star Maura Higgins and Jowita was last linked to ex Strictly star Giovanni Pernice.

It comes as fans were moved to tears by a tribute to two former stars of the show that aired on Strictly’s pairing episode last weekend. Pictures of professional dancer Robin Windsor and Hairy Bikers star Dave Myers flashed up at the end of Saturday’s episode, as the BBC show paid its respect.

Robin died in February this year at the age of 44, while TV chef Dave died in the same month at the age of 66 after being diagnosed with cancer. The much-loved pair are not the only stars to have died prematurely after competing on Strictly, with the show seeing its fair share of tragedy in its 20-year history.
