ITV This Morning viewers in uproar over Cat Deeley’s death remark

This Morning host Cat Deeley left viewers stunned after she made an awkward comment about death during the ITV show on Monday

During Monday’s episode of This Morning, Cat Deeley took viewers by surprise with a startling remark directed at Gyles Brandreth.

On the program, Ben Shephard alerted the audience that Gyles was suffering from sleep deprivation, having returned from America on Sunday.

Describing how he had taken to the stage in the UK within hours of his flight, Gyles quipped: “It teaches me that maybe you only need two or three hours sleep after all.”

While Vanessa Feltz and Ben acknowledged that a lack of sleep would ultimately take its toll, Cat made the bold assertion, “He’ll sleep when he’s dead.” The comment slightly bewildered her colleagues.

Vanessa issued an awkward chuckle while Ben retorted: “That was quite dramatic!” Undeterred, Cat affirmed: “It’s ‘true’! Sleep when you’re dead!”

However, those tuning in didn’t miss Cat’s offbeat interjection, with viewers expressing their amusement and bemusement on social media platforms. One exclaimed: “Cat ‘you can sleep when you’re dead’ what a thing to say.”

Another puzzled viewer said: “Cat to Gyles ‘You can sleep when you’re dead’ – wtaf? ” And someone else opined: “Cat is so awkward sometimes! ‘Sleep when you’re dead!'”

Touching on her own experience with sleep deprivation, Vanessa reflected on her early starts during her radio days, mentioning: “At 3:20am in the Morning, live on air at 4am for 12 years!

“I did think, in a way, you’re ahead of the game because everyone else is still slumbering. You’ve done everything, achieved everything, and read all the papers. It’s a marvellous feeling, in a way. But, you’re so tired you can’t enjoy a single minute of it.”

Echoing this sentiment, Ben added: “That’s the thing, it’s going to catch up with you at the other end.”
