WNBA and Team USA star A’ja Wilson came under fire from one of her Las Vegas Aces teammates following her gold medal win in Paris on Sunday.

Sydney Colson, who seems like she can’t wait for A’ja to get back, referred to her colleague as “fake” in a social media post, reminding the center who her real teammates are on the back of her successful campaign at the Olympics.

The shot from Colson came after Wilson posted a photo of the U.S. women’s basketball gold medal champions to her Instagram Story and captioned it: “Whatta groupppp.”

Colson responded to the caption via X/Twitter, writing, “Whatta groupppp.” some s**t just fake to me.”

Colson’s tweet went viral on the platform, with most fans aware that it was only a playful shot.

“Don’t let her come back acting brand new!!!” one wrote.

“Big ‘oh those your lil summer friends from your grandma house’ energy…” another commented.

“Syd, we know you not mad. You’re good! 🤣🤣🤣🤣,” a third wrote.

“Don’t worry Syd they’re coming back soon 🤣🩷,” a user joked.

A’ja Wilson Responded To Her Teammate In Kind

A’Ja Wilson has since offered a response to her teammate’s teasing.

“jealously is just love and hate at the same time,” she tweeted.

The Aces teammates will reunite this week and resume their charge for a three-peat this Saturday, with a fixture against the New York Liberty scheduled.

Wilson and Colson are both important players for Vegas and will be crucial to their title defense, though one doesn’t seem like she’ll allow the other to cruise around on cloud nine.
