The Traitors contestants find out that Charlotte isn’t Welsh

The Traitors fans were left “crying” after Charlotte Bermans’s true identity was revealed to the other contestants following the finale of the BBC show.

Over the past four weeks, the a 33-year-old business director from London pretended to be Welsh for the duration of the BBC reality competition.

At no point did her fellow contestants suspect she was faking her nationality. The show’s spin off show Uncloaked showed a montage of the others learning the truth about the last traitor standing and viewers were loving the big reveal.

They took to X – formerly known as Twitter – to share their joy at the reactions. One user penned: “I’m crying at them all finding out that Charlotte wasn’t Welsh #TheTraitorsUncloaked.”

A second commented: “Everyone finding out Charlotte is not Welsh #TheTraitorsUncloaked,” accompanied by a couple of laughing emojis. A third chimed in: “Charlotte said Welsh was the most trustworthy accent and that’s why she chose it. In fairness, it very nearly worked. #TheTraitorsUncloaked.”

“Why would anyone’s head be spun at Charlotte putting on a generic Welsh accent that doesn’t sound too dissimilar to her own voice. She could have interchanged at times and I would not have noticed the difference. #TheTraitors #TheTraitorsUK #TheTraitorsUncloaked,” a fourth laughed.

A fifth observed: “I still can’t tell the difference between her accents! #TheTraitorsUncloaked #TheTraitors.” Meanwhile a sixth opined: “Seeing everyone’s reaction to the fake Welsh reveal has to be one of the most entertaining parts of tonight #TheTraitorsUncloaked.”

Charlotte, who made it to the final of the show, initially began as a loyal faithful. However original traitor Minah Shannon forced her to join them when she gave her an explosive ultimatum: join the dark side or face certain murder and elimination from the game.

Ultimately faithfuls Leanne Quigley and Jake Brown were crowned the winners of the third series of the show. After four weeks of game play, suspicion, and teamwork the pair will split the eye-watering cash prize after an explosive final.

The explosive finale saw Faithfuls Leanne, Francesca, Jake, and Alexander gathered around the fire pit for the game’s climactic roundtable.

As tensions reached boiling point, the group turned on Alexander, unanimously voting him out and bringing his journey to a shocking end.

With Alexander gone, the remaining trio struggled to maintain trust, but Jake and Leanne ultimately turned on Francesca, casting her out after doubting her loyalty in the aftermath of her heated blowout with Charlotte earlier in the game.

Both admitted they couldn’t risk keeping her around, suspecting she might be a Traitor. Finally, only Jake and Leanne were left standing.

In an unexpected twist, the pair decided to call an end to the game, opting to split the final prize pot of £94,600 evenly. Both walked away with a cool £47,300 each
