I’M A Celeb has found itself in a fakery row after Joel Dommett let slip that ‘giveaway clue scenes are scripted’ on the show.

The 2024 series drew to a close on Sunday, and saw Danny Jones crowned king of the jungle.

But when the series starts, fans see the celebrities meeting and introducing themselves, but now one viewer has noticed that Joel gave something away that suggests they’d actually all already met.

The moment happened on I’m A Celeb’s spin-off show Unpacked, and led one person to write: “Just caught up on unpacked.

“Did anyone catch that Joel said they all fly out together…so they’ve all kind of met & probably had a decent amount of time to get to know one another.

“So why do they all introduce each themselves on the first episode! Lol. I’m sure sometimes they make out like they’re meeting for the first time.”

But Joel was actually referring to the I’m A Celebrity Unpacked presenters flying out together, including Sam Thompson, Kemi Rodgers, and of course Joel himself.

Someone responded saying: “Presumably they do it for the audience. It would seem strange if they didn’t introduce themselves to each other.”

A second penned: “I said just a few days ago I wonder how many of these conversations are natural and how many are prompted”, some of them felt really forced and unnatural, especially this season.”

A third person said: “I got the feeling it’s only recently i.e. this series.

“The past series always feels a bit cringe when they meet & greet, as they used to say stuff like “Who are you/What do you do” etc, it’s obvious they don’t know everyone.

“But this series, I’m fairly certain I heard Barry McGuigan say something like “Oh it’s GK Barry” when they were introduced. As if he would know who she is lmao. They all seemed to know who each other were, whereas last series we’ve had in the past, we had infamous lines such as “She’s from A Place in the Sun.””

Someone else echoed: “Also, when the first people went and met the junkyard campmates they returned to main camp and were asked who they were, saying “it’s Richard and Maura” and everyone just went ‘ah okay’, not ‘Richard who? Maura who? What are they both famous for?’”

Since leaving the show, Danny Jones has revealed that there was an incident in camp that left them all terrified.

He said that during the programme the stars were forced to flee and seek refuge in the Bush Telegraph.

As a result of the disaster weather conditions in Oz that saw buckets of rain pelt the camp, all 12 stars were forced to make a run for it out of camp.

There was also an All Star series in South Africa in 2023, which was won by Myleene Klass.

Speaking after his win, Danny discussed the terrifying incident that saw all of them holed up in the confined space.

He said: “It was one of the hardest nights, we were all quite cramped and I think there were still 12 of us then as well, all boiling-hot in close proximity.”

He further added to the Mirror that as a result of the excessive rain, the campmates also found themselves joined by LEECHES which further added to their misery.

The Voice UK coach continued to the publication: “The rain also meant the leeches were searching for you and I was literally on leech check every day.”

Danny’s victory comes 13 years after pal Dougie became the first of the McFly boys to brave the camp.
