King Chares makes ‘wise’ decision about Prince William, Harry
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who celebrated Christmas in California with their two children and their grandma, were reportedly not forced by King Charles to join the royal family for festive period.
The 76-year-old monarch “would have loved” to invite the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to just see their grandchildren, but he knew that wouldn’t go smooth for both, according to a new report.
A royal insider claimed: “King Charles made a wise decision about Harry and Meghan for not forcing them to travel to the UK with their children.”
They continued: “It was not an snub. It was his love for the Sussexes as he did not want to make them feel uncomfortable at the Christmas.
“The King knows it will take some more time to repair the fractured relationship between the royal family and the California-based couple,” they added.
Meanwhile, royal biographer Ingrid Seward also supported the monarch for his decision, saying: “King Charles would have loved the opportunity to see his grandchildren Archie and Lilibet, but he knew inviting Harry and Meghan would have been awkward for the rest of the family. So, there was no official invitation.”
She also shared her knowledge about the Sussex’s celebrations with the Mirror, saying: “Since his marriage to Meghan in 2018, Harry has only had Christmas at Sandringham once in December the same year.”
The commentator went on revealing another fact about the couple, saying: “Instead, he has embraced the traditions of the ‘happy holidays’ favoured by his adopted country. The only relative he has in California is his mother-in-law, Doria and according to Meghan, she will be have been with them at their Montecito home.”
However, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet’s father Harry cherishes his Sandringham Christmas memories as a golden ticket as there’s lot of fun for the family.
He might be recounting, the present opening on Christmas Eve with his extended family and then church and traditional Christmas lunch the next day. Then the Boxing Day pheasant shoot and in between loads of party games and drinking.
