One I’m A Celebrity contestant has earned keen backing to clinch the title in the 2024 instalment after exhilarating viewers and hosts in the latest episode of the ITV series. During the recent Bushtucker Trial, a hideous eating challenge left even presenters Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly taken aback by one celeb’s gutsy display.
Reverend Richard Coles and Coleen Rooney managed to gain full stars for their camp. Nonetheless, when faced with an additional task of securing a beverage for their fellow campmates, Coleen found herself struggling.
Confronted with the odious task of drinking from a so-called vomit-flavoured fishbowl, she quickly succumbed, nearly vomiting and subsequently withdrawing from the challenge. She encouraged Richard to follow suit if he felt compelled.
However, Rev Richard tenaciously continued, gagging but unwavering, leaving the onlooking duo of Ant and Dec visibly astonished. Ultimately, Richard triumphed, finishing the vile concoction much to the commendation of the shocked hosts, who labeled him “a machine” for his heroic effort.
They confessed they had not seen such fortitude before on the show, with Dec highlighting that he “went the extra mile”, reports the Mirror.
Enthused home viewers echoed this sentiment, with numerous fans proposing that Reverend Richard’s formidable resolve secured his place as a top contender for the final, with some declaring him the rightful “King of the Jungle.”
One viewer lauded: “Rev Richard to win,” while another endorsed, “Richard needs to win.”
An enthralled fan expressed, “REV RICHARD, KING OF THE JUNGLE! ! This is legendary.”
A fourth viewer exclaimed: “Richard deserves to win the entire show for this,” and a fifth concurred, “Richard deserves his place in the final! ! What a man! ! Winner in my eyes.”
Meanwhile, a sixth admirer gushed: “Richard is actually incredible omg,” while another opined, “Richard is amazing! My winner from day one.”
The comments flooded in as Friday night’s episode resulted in another two celebrities waving goodbye to the jungle, missing their shot at the semi-final and the much-anticipated Celebrity Cyclone challenge. TV duo Ant and Dec delivered the results of the public vote, which saw Coronation Street’s Alan Halsall and social media personality GK Barry make their exits.
Talking about what he found most challenging, Alan said: “I get very emotional speaking about my daughter. I miss Sienna more than you can imagine.”
During a visit from his brother in the camp, he seized the opportunity to find out how his daughter was coping and whether she had been watching him on the show. For her part, GK, whose real name is Grace, commented that the reality of the show had been “much worse” than she anticipated.
